Laptops - Offsite Internet Connectivity - Offsite Printing
Laptops - All incoming SHU Law students are REQUIRED to possess a laptop that meets our minimum specifications and use it for various onsite and offsite class

technology continuously both onsite and through remote instruction and all law school

Offsite Internet Connectivity - Speed and Latency
All students MUST have access to an offsite Internet connection that provides their device with at
least 20mbs down and 10mbs up with latency or "ping" of 50ms or less. These minimum
standards should ensure proper use of synchronous video conferencing services such
as Microsoft Teams, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra or Zoom. To test your internet speed, click here.
If your internet service meets the above criteria but your device does not maintain
the speed listed or a stable connection, please see this page to help troubleshoot your internet connection.

Offsite Printing
While the law school provides each student with up to 3000 pages of free printing
per semester on our onsite copier/printers, students following the Hyflex model will
require offsite printing, especially to print outlines during exams. For those students
utilizing the Hyflex model, we highly recommend purchasing or having access to a home or
offsite printer... preferrably a toner-based laser printer (not ink).
If you need financial assistance in purchasing a printer please see Karen Sokol, our
Assistant Dean for Enrollment Services, at 973-642-8738.
