Each year, Seton Hall Law faculty host a series of distinguished and emerging legal scholars for the Faculty Colloquium. Visiting scholars present their works in progress and receive valuable feedback from Seton Hall faculty to help refine their scholarship and advance the broader legal conversation.

The Spring 2026 Faculty Colloquium Series will open on January 22 with Harlan Grant Cohen of Fordham Law, presenting “The International Order, International Law, and the Definition of Security.” Seton Hall Law Professor David Opderbeck, Co-Director of both the Institute for Privacy Protection and the Gibbons Institute for Law, Science, and Technology, will lead an evening session on February 3, presenting “Faithful Exchange: The Economy as It’s Meant to Be.” Later that week, Jill Wieber Lens (Iowa Law) on February 5, will present “Stillbirth and the Law,” followed by Brian Soucek (UC Davis Law) on March 19, presenting “The Opinionated University.”

Rounding out the series, Edith Beerdsen (Temple Law) will visit on March 26 presenting “Expert Evidence in Times of Skepticism and Distrust” and Ngozi Okidegbe of Boston University will visit on April 9. Through these conversations, Seton Hall Law reaffirms its commitment to fostering a vibrant scholarly community where ideas meet critique, and where legal thought continues to evolve through meaningful exchange.
