Seton Hall Law School graduates once again boasted excellent employment outcomes for
the class of 2024. Over 95% of the class was employed within ten months after graduation.
91.4% are working in positions that require or advantage a JD degree, while others
are working in professional positions, and two are pursuing additional advanced education.
Nearly a quarter of the Class of 2024 are working in New York, and 15% of the graduates
work in “Big Law” firms of more than 250 attorneys.
Judicial clerkships in state and federal courts continue to be a popular choice for Seton Hall Law graduates. More than 40% of the Class of 2024 are pursuing judicial clerkships, with four federal clerks and six clerking for the New Jersey Supreme Court. According to Assistant Dean of Career Services Jacqueline Pirone, “Clerkships are a great way to fine-tune legal research, writing and analytical skills. Law clerks have the opportunity to network with practicing attorneys, and to gain a life-long mentor in the judge with whom they work.” The Princeton Review ranked Seton Hall Law as the best law school in the country for securing a state court clerkship. Ninety-five percent of students with clerkships are employed the following year, with 70% of those going into law firm practice.
High bar pass rates complement the success of Seton Hall Law’s graduates in the employment market. In July 2024, 88.3% of graduates who took the New Jersey bar for the first time passed, a rate that is more than 12% above the state average. In New York, Seton Hall Law graduates had a first-time pass rate of 88.7%, surpassing the state average of ABA-approved law schools by 2.5%.
Seton Hall Law was recently ranked as the 9th best school in the nation for Health Care Law by U.S. News and World Report. The Law School is home to the Center for Health and Pharmaceutical Law, and offers students the opportunity to earn a concentration in Health Law. U.S. News ranked the Law School #48 in the country for Trial Advocacy Programs, and Seton Hall’s Moot Court Program is ranked #4 in the nation by the University of Houston Blakely Advocacy Institute. According to U.S. News, the Law School rose 24 spots to achieve a #71 ranking for Clinical Education, important work done by students at the Center for Social Justice. Overall, the Law School was ranked #71 by US News, placing it in the top ten of schools in the tri-state (NY-NJ-CT) area.
