Overview

Graduates of the Master of Legal Studies program are spread around the globe and work in various industries. They include professionals in the highest levels of government, CEOs, compliance officers, paralegals, hospital administrators, scientists, doctors and educational professionals. Almost all of them believe that the skills they learned in the legal studies program helped them get where they are today. 95% of recently surveyed alumni claimed that their master’s degree from Seton Hall Law was helpful to them in their career path.

Common among alumni survey responses was a move into leadership positions. Nearly half of surveyed alumni experienced a promotion since completing the degree. Here are some of the responses:

In addition to the promotions, almost 70% of surveyed alumni experienced a salary increase since completing the degree. And along with career advancement and return on investment, many alumni also report satisfaction with their increased knowledge and skills.

Same Degree, Different Name.

In 2022, Seton Hall Law School renamed its Master of Science in Jurisprudence degree (MSJ) to the Master of Legal Studies degree (MLS). Students of the master’s program at Seton Hall law School who earned their degree before 2023 graduated with a Master of Science in Jurisprudence (MSJ). Students who begin the program in the fall of 2022 or after will graduate with a Master of Legal Studies (MLS). Read more about the name change.
