Applications are not reviewed by the Admissions Committee until all supporting documents are provided.

Note: All documents submitted as part of the application process become the property of Seton Hall University School of Law.

Students applying to take one course only should submit everything needed for the Graduate Certificate application.

The supporting documents list includes information required to complete an  application and the submission process for the following programs:

Online Graduate Certificates

Interested applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or the foreign equivalent, and submit 1) an online application, 2) a transcript, and 3) a resumé.

Transcript

Resumé

Test Scores

Standardized aptitude test not required for admission.

If English is not your first language, a TOEFL Score and Test Results is required. Link to TOEFL

Transfer Credit

Transfer credits not accepted.


M.L.S. Degree (Master of Legal Studies)

Interested applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or the foreign equivalent, and submit 1) an online application, 2) a transcript, 3) a resumé, 4) a personal statement, 5) one letter of recommendation, and 6) a TOEFL score where necessary.

Required: Official Transcript from degree-granting undergraduate college/university attended.

Note: International transcripts for degrees obtained outside of U.S. require transcript evaluation from one of the following agencies:

Resumé

Personal Statement

Please explain your interest in the program, and how you hope to use your degree when you graduate.

Letter(s) of Recommendation

Required: One letter of recommendation. Fillable PDF available upon request or through the application.

Test Scores

Transfer Credit

Up to 12-credits from ABA-accredited law school may be accepted. Consideration for transfer of courses completed within 4-years of application.


LL.M. Degree (Master of Laws)

Interested applicants must have a J.D. degree from a law school that is approved by the Section of Legal Education of the American Bar Association or the foreign equivalent from a school of law, (LSAC list of schools by country) and submit: 1) an online application, 2) transcripts, 3) a resumé, 4) a personal statement, 5) two letters of recommendation, 6) Bar admissions where applicable, 7) a TOEFL score where necessary, and 8) transfer credits where requested.

Please describe the reasons the applicant is seeking admission and how the LL.M. program and the chosen area of study will assist the applicant in enhancing her career.

Letters of Recommendation

Required: Two letters of recommendation. Fillable PDF available upon request or through the application.

Letters may be from a law school faculty member who has personal knowledge of the applicant’s academic work, a current or former employer, or a practicing attorney. Both letters should address the applicant’s qualifications and how the LL.M. program will assist the applicant in enhancing her career.

Bar Admissions

Applicants must submit all Bar Admissions.
