Orientation Information

Welcome to Seton Hall Law!

Orientation for all new students will be held on Wednesday, August 14, Thursday, August 15, and Friday, August 16, 2019 (this will also be your first day of class). Attendance at orientation is mandatory for all new students during all three days, so please clear your calendar accordingly.  We look forward to meeting you!  In the coming weeks we will be publishing orientation information (in three release dates) for incoming students to review and take action.  Information will be available below on June 19, July 17 and August 1. If you have any questions, please contact Student Services at 973-642-8707.


New Student Events

  1. August 12 | 1L Walking Tour of Newark, 3-6:30 p.m. (Learn more & RSVP)
  2. August 16 | 1L Happy Hour! First law school social event. Lawn games, food, & drinks. 3-5:00 p.m. (RSVP not required)
  3. August 26 | Welcome Back BAR-B-QUE, 4-6:00 p.m. (Learn more & RSVP)

Third Release (8/1/19)

  3. Orientation Schedule
  4. Legal Tech Assessment (Letter with Information)
  5. Ordering Your Fall Books
  6. First Class Assignments (Check individual courses on Blackboard via Lawnet)
  7. Name/Pronouns – Any student who has not yet shared, or wishes to change, their chosen name and pronouns with Law School Admissions may inform the law school of such by emailing [email protected].
  8. Photo/Media Release (submission required)

  3. Financial Planning for Law School Students (participate in the Webinar on July 31 OR August 6 OR August 8)
  4. Disability Support for Law Students Students with any disability or any chronic condition or diagnosis for which they are interested in requesting reasonable classroom or exam accommodations must contact the Office of Disability Support no later than August 1.

  8. NJ TRANSIT Discount Information All incoming full-time students will be able to purchase NJ Transit discount tickets beginning August 1.  Please read rules and instructions here.
