The Pre-Legal Speaker Series is an integral part of the program’s effort to connect students with the broader legal community. Through informal yet substantive sessions, students engage directly with faculty and practitioners who share insights into both the study and practice of law.
Held throughout the academic year, the series brings together faculty from Seton Hall Law and, increasingly, from Rutgers Law School. Each session highlights a different area of practice, ranging from public interest work to compliance, criminal defense, prosecution, and corporate practice. Students are encouraged to ask candid questions, engage in open dialogue, and reflect on how different areas of law align with their own goals and interests.
Participation in the Speaker Series is also an important part of the Pre-Legal pipeline. Attendance at a required number of sessions is one of the benchmarks for eligibility into the Residential Program. In this way, the series not only broadens students’ professional horizons but also instills the discipline and commitment expected of future law students.
