Seton Hall University School of Law recently ranked #9 in Health Law among other law schools in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings. The school is consistently ranked in the Top 10, and this year was successful in moving up a ranking.
Jacob Elberg, Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law, credits this year’s success to the dedication of the faculty and student engagement. He comments, “We are fortunate at Seton Hall to have a terrific group of health law faculty representing a wide range of expertise and who have a meaningful impact through teaching, scholarship, and engagement outside of academia. We continue to have a large and impressive group of students interested in health law and actively involved in health law events.”
The School of Law offers a wide range of health law courses for its students , as well as out-of-class opportunities through an externship program, a semester in Washington, D.C., and summer compliance fellowships. The School’s Health Law Forum works to educate students about the field of health law, and connect students with networking opportunities, internships, externships, and jobs.
The School of Law also offers educational opportunities for legal professionals through graduate certificates, in topics such as Health & Hospital Law and Pharmaceutical Law. In addition, the Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law has been a leader in Compliance education for over 20 years, offering seven healthcare compliance programs annually in five different countries, as well as an Advanced Healthcare Compliance Certificate Program.
Regarding the future, Professor Elberg opines, “As proud as we are of what our health law program has been, we are incredibly excited about what the future will bring. Adding two tenure-track health law professors next year – one an expert in FDA law and the other coming to launch a Medical Legal Partnership – will add to our course offerings and the Center’s impact both within and outside of the Law School.”
