Matthew C. Moench is a named partner with King, Moench, Hirniak, and Mehta LLP. Matthew joined the firm by merging his own successful law practice, Moench Law LLC. Matthew has made representation of municipal entities and governments a focal point of his practice. He has served as municipal attorney and special counsel to numerous municipalities, providing legal advice on a range of issues. He also represents clients with general litigation, including a focus on election law matters.
Previously, Matthew was an attorney at Bevan, Mosca & Giuditta in the Government, Regulatory and Legislative Affairs practice group where he advised clients on key public policy initiatives, with a particular focus on utility, energy, and clean energy and sustainability. Matthew provided legislative motioning and analysis on public policy and assisted clients in navigating the various governmental agencies and authorities in federal, state and local government to assist clients in meeting their business needs. Matthew is a registered Government Affairs agent in New Jersey. Matthew also practiced in the firm's litigation group, where he represents clients on complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and insurance defense. Matthew serves as the public defender in several municipalities throughout New Jersey.
Matthew continues to serve the Seton Hall community by coaching students as part of the Interscholastic Moot Court Program. He is the Mayor of Bridgwater and previosuly served as a Councilman in Bridgewater for 12 years. Matthew is married with two children, Jackson and Emmanuella. Matthew participates in the sport of ice curling in his free time.
