Juris Doctor (JD) Degree:

This joint degree culminates in a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Relations and a JD. It is a unique opportunity for students to combine legal training with a thorough understanding of the political, social, economic, and cultural dynamics of international affairs. Joining a law journal is an excellent opportunity for JD students to enhance their academic careers. Seton Hall Law has two law journals: the Seton Hall Law Review and the Legislative Journal.
A nationally recognized, scholarly legal journal that publishes critical and analytical articles on significant, topical legal issues. The Law Review is published quarterly and is edited and managed by a student editorial board and staff. Students edit the lead articles and write commentary on recent judicial decisions and developments. Most members are selected on the basis of their demonstrated writing ability through a competition each summer, based on a combination of competition scores and grades.
Seton Hall Law Review
A journal dedicated to the study of legislation, the legislative process, and public policy. It features articles by scholars as well as active participants in the legislative process in New Jersey and the nation. The Journal of Legislation and Public Policy is published twice a year, including an annual symposium exploring a topic of state or federal public policy. Students edit the lead articles and write commentary on recent developments in the legislative arena. Members are chosen in the spring or summer of their first year based on writing competition scores, grades, personal interviews, and prior legislative experiences.
Seton Hall Journal of Legislation and Public Policy
I recommend all students to participate in the Gressman Competition because it teaches important skills of advocacy, teamwork, public speaking, analytical writing, and ‘thinking on your feet.’ It is such a fun and rewarding experience, providing the opportunity to get crucial practice, networking exposure, and even accolades.
