Michael L. Collins is managing partner of the firm’s Monmouth County office. Mike maintains a law practice providing robust representation to both public sector and private sector clients, with a focus on matters involving interactions with state and local government.
Prior, Mike was an Associate at Archer, where he practiced in the firm’s State & Local Law and Government Affairs Practice Group, based in its Red Bank office.
Mike also served as Assistant Counsel to Governor Chris Christie in the Authorities Unit. In this capacity, Mike represented the Administration before New Jersey’s independent state and bi-state authorities, boards, and commissions.
Before entering the State House, Mike clerked in the Appellate Division for the Hon. Carmen Messano, P.J.A.D., in the judiciary’s West Long Branch chambers.
Mike graduated from Seton Hall Law in 2013. Mike served as Articles Editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal and as managing editor of the student-run newspaper, The Cross-Examiner. Mike was also student director of the law school’s Appellate Advocacy program.
Mike completed his undergraduate degree in three years at New York University, where he double majored in Journalism and Political Science. During his studies, Mike was elected at age 18 to the Holmdel Township Board of Education, and he served a full term commencing in 2008 and concluding during law school.
Mike is a member of the New Jersey Law Journal’s Young Lawyers Advisory Board, which publishes monthly columns on topics facing young practitioners in the state. Mike is a former intern and current member of the Republican National Lawyers Association, as well as a member of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
