DESCRIPTION
Seton Hall University Provost's Academy for the Interdisciplinary Study of Sports
presents a conversation on labor relations in professional sports between two Seton
Hall faculty members with extraordinary experience. The Academy invites you to join
Charles Grantham, former Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association and current
Director in the Center for Sport Management in Seton Hall's Stillman School of Business
and Robert Boland, Assistant Professor of Law in Gaming, Hospitality, Entertainment and Sports Law
at Seton Hall Law School for an in depth conversation that will explore where we are
in labor relations now and where we are headed in pro sports and perhaps collegiate
sports, too.
This is the inaugural program presented by the Academy. So, any member of the Seton Hall community, student, faculty, athlete, coach, staff member who loves sports or sees parallels to other disciplines in sports should attend either virtually or in person.
About the Academy: Seton Hall is the only major university to have an established Sports Management Center in its College of Business, a law school with a concentration focused on sports law, a Center for Sports Media, and an NCAA Division I athletic department. The Provost's Academy for the Interdisciplinary Study of Sports, in its first year, is the community focused on the study of all the meanings of sports and the maximization of Seton Hall's already outstanding assets in sports and sports education.
