Professor Angela D. Slater currently serves as the Associate Academic Director of the Law School’s Division of Online Learning. She also is an assistant professor of law, teaching several courses in the Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law. Professor Slater has substantial experience in the distance education arena, and has taught a variety of law courses in a distance format for more than a decade. She graduated from New York University School of Law, where she received two American Jurisprudence Awards. She received her B.A. in political science, summa cum laude, from Montclair State University.

Prior to joining Seton Hall Law School, Professor Slater actively practiced law for nearly 20 years, focusing on complex pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. She served as a litigation director for several of New Jersey’s largest law firms, where she represented the pharmaceutical and medical device industry in state and national litigation and was responsible for managing all aspects of litigation from discovery to trial. She has significant experience in food and drug law, and is a past Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Products Liability and Toxic Tort Section. Professor Slater has lectured nationally on myriad topics related to complex pharmaceutical matters, including drug and device recalls, nature, scope, and admissibility of complex scientific and medical testimony, punitive damages, Rule 706 expert panels, informed consent, and preemption of state tort claims.
