APALSA hosts Virtual Conversation Advancing Goal of Pursuing Opportunities to Build Bridges within and outside Seton Hall Law School

On September 8th, 2020, the Seton Hall Law Asian Pacific American Law Students Association hosted “Asian Americans at a Crossroads: COVID-19, #BLM, Discrimination, and Allyship,” a virtual conversation featuring Queens College President Frank H. Wu and moderated by Professor Marina Lao. The author of Yellow: Race in America Beyond Black and White, President Wu highlighted the ways in which Asian Americans have benefited from, deeply engaged in, and should continue to participate in civil rights movements in solidarity with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Nearly 200 people from around the country attended the event, and 26 organizations co-sponsored the event, including 9 Seton Hall Law student organizations, 4 bar associations, and 13 APALSA Chapters. This event advanced APALSA’s goal of pursuing opportunities to build bridges and foster community and diversity both within and outside of the Law School.
