Professor Bernard Freamon appeared in several episodes of the UK Channel 5 series 1000 Years a Slave, which originally premiered in the UK in October 2021. The series received a plethora of 5-star reviews from the UK press. To commemorate Black History Month, Uplands TV of the UK will air the documentary One Thousand Years of Slavery – The Untold Story on the Smithsonian Channel beginning February 7th at 8pm EST. The Untold Story is a follow-up to the UK version of the series 1000 Years a Slave and will air every Monday during Black History Month.

The four-part docu-series narrated by two-time Emmy Award-winning actor Courtney B. Vance will uncover the truth of a 1,000-year story of slavery around the world, from Africa to the Caribbean and from New Orleans to Istanbul. It will explore slavery’s lasting and personal impact on individuals and society with sit-downs featuring Dr. Bernice King, David Harewood, Ray Fearon, Professor Bernard Freamon, and many more.
