New Jersey Law Journal Names Seton Hall Law Dean Kathleen M. Boozang to Top Women in the Law List

Newark, NJ – October 12, 2018 - The New Jersey Law Journal has named Seton Hall University School of Law Dean Kathleen M. Boozang to its list of the Top Women in the Law 2018.

Dean Boozang was selected as among “female attorneys who have influenced the law and legal profession in exceptional ways over the last two years.”

Kathleen Boozang has been a professor at Seton Hall Law since 1990 and Dean since 2015. During her deanship, she pioneered the Law School’s new weekend JD program and has grown its JD enrollments and graduate programs. She is especially proud of the success of Seton Hall graduates in the job market and credits that to the Law School’s “one student at a time” philosophy.  Dean Boozang teaches and writes on issues related to Catholic healthcare and corporate compliance in the health and global life sciences industries. She has served in multiple administrative capacities during her time at Seton Hall University, including Vice Provost and Law School Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. She founded the Law School’s now top-ranked Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law & Policy and established its graduate degrees, Division of Online Learning, and international Compliance Certificate Programs. 

Joining Dean Boozang on the list of Top Women is Wendy Johnson Lario ’92. She is Vice Chair of Seton Hall Law’s Board of Visitors and Chair of the Board of Visitors Subcommitee on Women’s Leadership, established to offer expanded mentoring opportunities, lectures, and training for 3L students in order to equip them with the skills necessary to become leaders in the legal community. Lario is currently a Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig.

Three other Seton Hall Law alumnae join Dean Boozang and Lario on the list: Lisa Gorab ’89, Jennifer Weisberg Millner ’90, and Rose Suriano ’88.

“This recognition is really a testament to the continuing success of Seton Hall Law,” says Dean Kathleen M. Boozang. “I am privileged to be its third woman dean at a time when women in leadership positions can make an important difference.”
