In-Class Exams
Information About Examplify for Students
In order to download the Examplify exam software, you need to log into our Seton Hall Law ExamSoft Website.
- Before proceeding, please review Seton Hall Law School’s Policy on Using Laptops for Examinations.
- Please note that you must do all critical and recommended updates from the Windows updates page before downloading and installing the software.

Software Download Instructions
- Download and install the software to your laptop by logging into ExamSoft account.You need to login with your 8 digits SHUID number as your user name and shls + last 4 of SHU ID# as your password. It is highly recommended that you change your password after your initial login. Before loading the software, you must do all critical and recommended Windows updates.
- Once installed, conduct a practice exam to insure that the software is working properly.
1. For PC and MAC users, you can conduct this test from anywhere that you have an internet connection. Both versions of the software work very similarly to each other now.

Requirements and Additional Information for Students
For Wireless Users (PC Users)
- Your laptop must have an internal or external 802.11a, g, or n wireless card, and that card needs to be able to access our wireless network.
- Be sure to bring your power cord to each exam. You will be asked to handwrite your exam if you forget your power cord as per our Laptop Policy.
- The software is designed to automatically run a Transfer Utility program upon exit which uploads your completed exam to ExamSoft server and returns you to your desktop. If your completed answers have been successfully uploaded, you will see a big green message that says "Congratulations" in the center of the screen. If your laptop cannot upload your exam to their server, you will get an "Upload Failed" error message. In a real exam situation, simply raise your hand and the proctor will assist you after checking out those students who successfully uploaded.
For Mac Users
- You must have AirPort wireless card, and that card needs to be able to access our wireless network.

- The software is similar in look and functionality to the PC version. Upon exit, the Transfer Utility runs and will upload your exam to the ExamSoft server and returns you to your desktop. If your completed answers have been successfully uploaded, you will see a big green message that says "Congratulations" in the center of the screen. If your laptop cannot upload your exam to their server, you will get an "Upload Failed" error message. During an actual exam situation, simply raise your hand and the proctor will assist you after checking out those students who successfully uploaded.
- Important!!! Do not drag the Examplify aaplication from your “Applications” folder on your MAC to anywhere else on your laptop!!! Simply create the shortcut icon on your dock at the bottom of your screen.
