Welcome to the Institute's new Distinguished Practitioner in Residence Bill Coppola. Mr. Coppola has substantial experience representing numerous clients, including universities and research institutions, regarding a wide spectrum of patent, intellectual property, and transaction matters. With respect to IP, his responsibilities have included securing and defending world-wide patent protection for chemical, biotechnology and device inventions, litigation of chemical, biotechnology and device patents in the US and globally (including Hatch-Waxman litigations in the US, and PMNOC litigations in Canada), performance of freedom-to-operate analyses, managing attorneys and staff, and alliance management with IP departments of partners.
