Certificate in Health and Hospital Law
The graduate certificate in Health and Hospital Law is designed for professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge of legal, regulatory, and ethical issues related to the delivery of healthcare. The target audience includes hospital administrators and compliance officers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, state and federal regulators, and patient advocates. Lawyers transitioning into the health arena would also find it very helpful.

A Certificate in Health & Hospital Law will be awarded upon completion of three courses. You must take any three courses listed above, in any order you choose.
Materials for the certificate programs are drawn from a broad range of statutory and regulatory texts, agency guidance documents, enforcement actions, settlement agreements, judicial decisions, and expert commentary. Through a series of multimedia presentations, guided discussions and individually supervised writing projects, students learn to interpret legal documents and assess their practical implications for healthcare providers.
All of our graduate certificate courses offer intensive, individualized feedback, as well as an opportunity to develop the practical skills necessary to research and communicate effectively about the law.
All nine credits earned in the graduate certificate program can be applied towards the Master of Legal Studies degree.
We offer our graduate certificate programs during our spring, summer and fall semesters. New course sessions begin five times per year.
