Meet the Alumni, Development & External Relations Team
The bedrock of the Seton Hall Law community relies on the connections of our alumni – to one another, and to the Law School. This team facilitates those connections, further strengthening our vast, nationwide network.
The bedrock of the Seton Hall Law community relies on the connections of our alumni – to one another, and to the Law School. Our Alumni, Development & External Relations team shares this commitment and connection, with team members eager to support our alumni community.
Jamie Pukl-Werbel ’98 is Dean of Alumni, Development & External Relations. Jamie brings years of practice experience, institutional knowledge, and her vast alumni network to further strengthen the Seton Hall Law community. Jamie joined the Seton Hall Law faculty in 2005, teaching lawyering skills to first-year students. She was previously an Assistant District Attorney with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor in the City of New York. Immediately upon graduation from Seton Hall Law, Jamie clerked for the Presiding Criminal Judge in Union County.
“If you look at the numbers – our U.S. News & World Report ranking, our employment outcomes, and our bar pass rates – it is clear that Seton Hall Law continues to provide high-quality academic programs and unique opportunities that polish students’ legal skills and set them apart,” Jamie said. “As Seton Hall Law students give their all to make us proud, I know for a fact that our graduates’ contribution of time, energy, and financial support is essential. That is why I have assumed this new role, and I am honored to work with such a strong team. Our Alumni, Development and External Relations team members share our graduates' dedication to Seton Hall Law.”
Seton Hall Law also welcomes back Andrea (DeChellis) Cascarano ‘07, who had served on the Seton Hall University’s Advancement team last year and returned to the Law School Law in November. “I am delighted to be home,” she said. “Dean Boozang offered me an opportunity to return to my alma mater. As a graduate of the Law School, it is easy for me to advocate, passionately and authentically, for its needs. Both personally and professionally, the opportunity to work for Dean Boozang, the Law School’s third female dean and a former professor of mine, was an offer I could not refuse.”
As the Executive Director for Strategic Giving, Andrea reaches out to alumni to keep them informed of the successes of the law school and to share the Law School’s plans for continued achievement. “I love talking with fellow graduates because we share a vision and enthusiasm for Seton Hall Law's future,” she said. “It gives us common ground to discuss how the Law School can best serve its constituents, and explore how each individual or organization can best support and advocate for Seton Hall Law."
Lori Thimmel, Senior Director of Alumni Relations, Programming, Special Events & Social Media
Lori joined Seton Hall Law in 2007 to manage the events and special initiatives of the Seton Hall Law Rising capital campaign, which exceeded its fundraising goal of $25 million over its four-year span. She brought more than 15 years of event planning experience, consulting to corporate clients as well as major sports teams.
“I help Seton Hall Law alumni stay connected with the Law School, with each other, and with the students who will become future colleagues in the profession. Our team sustains alumni connections through social events, professional networking opportunities and educational programs, and we share career news and updates about the Law School so our graduates can stay in touch.”
John O’Connor, Alumni and Development Coordinator
John joined Seton Hall Law year, bringing extensive experience in client relations and guest services.
“If you have come to an Alumni CLE or other event at Seton Hall, chances are I helped process your reservation and ensured you received the proper credits for your attendance. I provide behind-the-scenes administrative support for Seton Hall Law events and programs, manage our mailing systems, and keep our records in order to sustain our alumni relations functions.”
Michael Engemann, Administrative Assistant
Michael is the most recent addition to the Alumni, Development & External Relations team. A recent college graduate, Michael organized team involvement with the Special Olympics of Rhode Island as a student volunteer.
“My role is to keep the team organized and informed, providing both research and scheduling support, so they are ready to tackle the next challenge.”
